This group was a highly successful creative venture. A further exploration of the improvisationly based trio format, it started life as part of New York's downtown scene in the mid '90's. Initially I used a realitivly open pallet of french horn, guitar and drums and then over time shaped the sound into the more rhythmically focused approach heard on the recording, with trombone, guitar and drums. I received some great press for the disc, including a four star review in Down Beat Magazine and inclusion in their list of the best jazz albums of 2001.
